THAT WAS THE WEEK THAT WAS ... IT'S OVER -- LET IT GO!

THAT WAS THE WEEK THAT WAS .... And oh what a week that was .... Remember the Millicent Martin 60s TV show intro song?

Tony and I have had a frantic seven days over the Read an Ebook Week (RAEBW) ... it’s over, let it go. Enough for one year, already!

No more requests for promotional books will be accepted ... until we do this again. Maybe after Christmas. Let’s make our own 'Read A BeBook Week'. Sounds good to me.

Not sure how to take what happened, though. The site crashed for the first time in ten years today. Know why? Traffic increased about fifty-fold this week and our server – a particularly powerful operation based in Nottingham, UK – simply couldn’t cope with such a sudden and massive increase  in business. Too many people wanted to come in and look around.

Good news or bad that we crashed for a while? I think good. We, our authors and our titles have never, ever had such attention. Such acclaim. BeWrite Books is mainstream, chums. You’d better believe it.

And folks in places we didn’t even know there were places until this week are praising our authors’ work. Tootling the horns for us all over the darned internet ... all over the world ... and maybe even during sedate dinner parties in Surrey.

Will this week – when Tony and I have been tied to our desks for up to forty hours at a stretch – pay off?

You bet your sweet boots it will.

I’m rushing this post because Tony tells me we must immediately close the RAEBW promo, so I’ll explain why we KNOW this has worked in a day or two.

But oh what a week that was!

And we've learned a lot by listening to those tootling horns.

Milly was gorgeous, wasn't she? There was always another week that was, while she put her act together for the next.

Bestests. Neil

  2. Thanks so much for your hard work this last week. I think you made a big impression on a lot of people over on the Amazon kindle boards. Hope it becomes a win/win for all.

  3. Yup, Annie. You Kindle-boarders really entered into the spirit of things. Hundreds and hundreds of emails came in from Kindlers. Even more than from the massive MobileRead.com site. Can't thank you all enough. Bestests. Neil & Tony & team & authors

  6. Thanks, Jeep. We usually update the bog on Fridays and/or when a new BB title is released. The past couple of weeks when one post stayed up top for longer was an exception, as was the RAEBW in honoured. All worthwhile, though, Best wishes. Neil
